I can't help directly, but it may be interesting to note that the lead 
sheeting on the tower roof at Wetton, Staffordshire Moorlands, has numerous 
outlines of boots impressed into it. These were apparently made by scoring 
lightly around the boot and then decorating the interior by pressing in a 
nail or something similar.

I photographed a number of these footprints a year ago, but I don't know 
what happened to the prints or the negatives. A sample of the lead sheeting 
is to be mounted for display locally, being replaced during the current 
refurbishment.
