I normally use a 3/4" cold chisel and a lump hammer. If theyre very corroded a drop of WD40 or some other penetrant along the leading edges of the brass will help.

Anyone got any helpful tips on removing plain bearing brasses from cast
iron housings? Brute force, a hammer and a screwdriver generally seems
to result in a bent screwdriver!
