It looks like david.beacham at v... has got the 'W32.Swen.A' (or
similar) virus on his machine and it is automatically mass mailing itself to
all the addresses in his address book, including Bellhistorians.

This virus has already arrived here four or five times in the last week,
each from a different origin, one from one of our local ringers.

Symantec (Norton) have an information page about this virus:

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.swen.a@mm.html
They have a removal tool called 'FixSwen' which you can download free from
their website.

as does MacAffee

http://us.mcafee.com/virusInfo/default.asp?id=helpCenter&hcName=swen
They have a similar (free) removal tool called 'Stinger', the latest version
of which (v1.8.6) covers 'Swen'

Microsoft never send out unsolicited E-MAILS (they themselves say so);

If you receive one perporting to be from MS, (or indeed from anyone you do
not know)
- DO NOT OPEN IT
- DELETE IT.

regards

Arch Andrews
