Bellplot House Hotel, Chard, Somerset

Chris Hutchinson, the ringer going around the pubs named Bell, has emailed
me to say he found the Bellplot House Hotel in Chard. They say it is so
named because the plot of land is bell shaped.

He did wonder if this is true, or in fact, was there a foundry there
at some point? Does anyone know?
