This site and the remarks are remarkable. Have been on since digest #600 or 
so.
Why would an American steel bell end up in England?
There is one known steel chime in the U.S. A N-V chime at Lancaster, Pa. 
Sounds ok.
Are there any steel bell rings over there?
See an occassional entry from Carl Zimmerman from the US. He knows his stuff.
I have visited and documented over 200 chimes in the US and Canada in 12 
years.
