Alton Towers - "Hex" bell

Hello Eveyone,

On a recent trip to Alton Towers I was surprised to find a sizeable 1840 
Mears bell and broken clapper on display near the entrance to "The Hex". I 
have upload a picture to the files area. Anyone know the origin of this 
bell ?
