The rule board in the ringing chamber at Holy Trinity, Bradford on Avon, is
dated 1842. There's the usual stuff about men being of good character and
no smoking or drinking, apart from necessary refreshment, but there is no
mention that the ringers should be 'communicant members of the Church of
England', which seems common on other nineteenth century rule boards. As far
as I know there has never been that restriction on Bradford ringers. Are
there many other towers like that?
