JT & Co certainly inspected and reported (JPF) in 1940 andf recommended reh=
anging the two bells with new ringing fittings in the existing timber frame=
work. I don't know if it was they who did the work, but the bells they insp=
ected were:

1: 27 1/4" "Vile" tone. Probably Robert Maxwell of Edinburgh 3 1/2-cwt

2: "Kate Kennedy" Bell. 31 1/4". Cracked in two places in soundbow. No foun=
der given.=20

I'd be interested to see a copy of the article mentioned.

I have just received a magazine from my old university
(St. Andrews) in which is an article about the
rehanging (by HMA) of the two bells in St. Salvator's
chapel there. The last (of many!) recasting of these
was in 1940. Can anyone give me details of the most
recent founder and their weights?
