It's interesting that we tolerate these very old fashioned closed shop attitudes
in a world where markets are generally speaking open... indeed by law.

If the Diocese as owners wish to retain the bells within their ownership then
one might expect them to be transferred without a sale. If however they are to
be sold then surely the should be made available on the open market?
There should be no secrecy and it should be simple... the bells are for sale...
bids please... and the owner will decide which bid it prefers.

No loss of control for the Diocese but more openness and less power for the
wrong sort of people.

(this mornings rant is taken from.... Time for another reformation? This time
root and branch. The Cof E is stuck in a 19th century time-warp based on power
over people and organisational and clerical obedience. Look no further for the
cause of its decline. (here endeth this mornings rant:-)

Its our summer dinner today, I'd better get on with the seating plan. Have a
