'Time in Rutland' gives the recasting date of Oakham as 1910.
This 'light' tenor broke into two pieces whilst being raised for
ringing. The crown remained bolted to the headstock. 'Time in
Rutland' also states that the broken tenor AND damaged seventh were
returned to G&J for recasting with added metal, hence the 'heavy'
tenor listed in 'Dove'. There is also a photo of the broken tenor and
its replacement in 1924. The Peterborough Guild Inventory makes no
mention of the seventh being recast. The board in the ringing room
makes no reference to any recasting.
