The trebles at Leighton Buzzard are hung out. Quite different from
Evesham and Ipswich for example. The trebles at LB are hung out more
than Canterbury's too. The hang of the bell is only one part of what
needs to be considered. You also need to think of the size and throw of
the clapper.
And more important than anything is the audibility of the bells. LB are
extremely clear. You can get away with murder at Evesham and Canterbury.
I know from grim experience. Not so at LB. That's why they are hard to
strike. They are not hard to ring.
