Ratio of Height and Diameter

Ages ago I asked what the ratio of height to diameter was in modern Taylor
bells. No one really came up with an answer - so I walked the whole 100
yards to my nearest Taylor eight (St Wilfrid's Harrogate) and measured them.
Within 1/8 of an inch they were all very close to 1:1.24 (that is
height:diameter). They were cast in 1973 and 1977 (two trebles) at
Loughborough. So although this doesn't answer the question for alternative
profiles it will do as a rough guide.
