Something of a coincidence that Dick Chaundy's funeral was this
afternoon. Dick had been a member of the Oxford Society for over 80
years (he was 95 when he died) and had naturally rung at Carfax on
numerous occasions. Amazing what you learn at funerals. I knew that
Dick had been a PoW but not that he had flown Lancasters and been shot
down. The Chaundy family, referred to on the website, still has lots
of members in Oxford.
