The chiming machine was blue, by Smiths I think, and on your right as
you walked into the ringing room.
Bet they are not anywhere near as an unusual installation now as they
were were back then!
All these "fun" rings seem to be getting renovated, disposed of,
being rehung dead, etc.
I don't think tower grabbing is as much fun as it was twenty years ago.
But then again, I was going back in time yesterday with Raymond
Clayton, so I may be thinking of the past too much!
