Subject: Re: [Bell Historians] welding bells

Barimar's welded the mediaeval Bristol tenor at Ogbourne St Andrew (Wilts)
in 1933. In the Times for 16th March 1933 there was an article on this and a
reference to the earlier welding of four (unidentified) bells.

The other two for which there were faculties were
Charminster, 1932-1933, to weld two cracks in tenor bell and rehang it; and
Collingbourne Ducis, 1935: to weld, quarter-turn and re-hang a bell.

There is a reference in a SDGR report about a bell being welded. I think it
was in the Devizes branch, pre WW1 and there was a remark about the process
coming from?Germany.
