According to Jerram the Clyst Hydon tenor is dated 1616 and, indeed, does
bear the initials of John Birdall, plus his fleur-de-lys stop. The fourth
at the Cathedral is of the same date.

The tenor at Clyst St George was recast by Warners in 1864. Jerram records a
small bell at C St G School:
'SAN ROQVE ORA PRO NOBIS ANO DE 1788'. He says that it belonged to a Spanish
Convent. Anyone know anything about it or its present whereabouts?

Neil.
