Wheel diameter and hence the leverage available is important.
If the wheel diameter is reduced when the bell is tucked up any inherent
improvement in manoeuvre ability will be largely negated, but if the wheel
is to big the required downward acceleration of the rope will exceed the
ability of gravity to pull it down, resulting in more serious problems.
