The Royal Mint prepared pattern coins for 1937 (which included a left-facing
obverse portrait, like his Father, contrary to tradition); the reverse
designs on the crown, florin, Scottish shilling, brass threepence, penny,
halfpenny and farthing were used for those of King George VI. Only a few
pattern threepences 'got out', and the remainder are as rare as accession
bells.

Penny, three-halfpence, twopence and 2 1/2d stamps were issued in plenty.

The two best-known 'revised coronation' bells must be our tenor here at
Leicester Cathedral and its bigger sister at Winchester.
