I have just noticed that Morris's H&A and Ravens Church bells of Cambs
both say that Soham bells were recast and made into 8 in 1788. The
church records http://www.sohamroots.co.uk/history/thebells.HTM would
indicate that they were recast as a 6 and 2 more trebles added in
1790, before Bryant recast the front 2 and added 2 more trebles to
make the 10. Has this been noticed before, and does it matter? Also,
what date did Thomas Osborn die - Raven says 1806 and Owen in Church
bells of Hunts says 1804.
