1, 2, 3 by John Warner & Sons, 1896
4, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9 by Pack & Chapman, 1778
10 by Charles & George Mears, 1852.
The weights are as follows:
1. 6-0-15 6. 7-3-13
2. 6-1-4 7. 9-2-1
3. 6-1-20 8. 11-0-19
4. 6-1-27 9. 14-0-13
5. 7-0-25 10. 19-0-5
Formerly a ring of 8 from 1778; the tenor recast in 1852.
In 1896, the treble was recast, 2 further trebles added and all were re-hung in a new cast iron frame. The weights given above are on the the notice in the tower, but the same ones appear in Deedes & Walters' Essex book of 1909, so were probably those given by Warner.
The bells were re-hung on ball bearings in the existing frame by Mears & Stainbank in 1947 or 1948.
John Taylor & Co. re-hung the 9th in the early 1960s.
This information is from my own recent visit, the tower website, the EACR Handbook of 2004, and Deedes & Walters' book of 1909.
