Subject: [Bell Historians] G&J chime in Victoria BC [was Re: Mickfield, Suffolk]
Alan, you have uncovered the "lost" chime of Metropolitan United
Church of Victoria, BC. The bells were removed from the tower of
that building before it was sold to its present owner, the Victoria
Conservatory of Music. See:
http://www.gcna.org/data/NA_no_more.html#VCTR
Until your message, I had been unsuccessful in tracing what had
happened to them.
The 10 bells were cast and installed in 1938; largest is A, 9-1-1.
(Data from G&J records via AAJB.)
Further details on their present location, how they got there, what's
planned, etc. &c., would be most welcome!
Carl
