In my opinion (in the case of towers), if you can ring bells for an hour,
you can ring them all day long. A structural engineer may be able to shed
light on this.

serves me correctly, were not the 8 at Durham Cathedral banned from 'long
lengths' by their architect. After restoration & augmentation to 10 (& the
demise of their man) the situation changed.
