Some work, some don't, just as true-harmonic can sometimes work when
mixed with old-style, but often (and I know Messrs Pickford and Dalton
will strongly disagree!) doesn't - personally I find hum notes that
leap between octaves and sevenths very unpleasant.
It all depends on the original martial you are working with.
Don't forget at Masham, it was decided, I'm not sure by whom, that the
new trebles should be cast to profiles matching the other bells. It
works well with Gillett rings, but not necessarily with bells by
earlier founders!
