The old 7th is becoming the tenor of a ring of ten in the key of E (16-
2-16). The old 5th is being retained as a chiming bell, and a new bell
cast to replace it as the 8th of ten. The old treble has been recast
half a tone sharper(from D to D#); the 3rd in ten is a new bell, and
the two trebles are the ex.Kidderminster trebles tuned down just over
half a tone. The new bells are G & J profiled. The old bells are being
tuned. The old tenor has been broken up and some of the metal
incorporated in the new bells. The new bells were cast last Friday
(19th).
