Taylors' records indicate that the back five bells, total weight 33-2-13, were melted down on 23rd March 1995. The Barwell treble was scrapped on a different date, its weight being recorded as 4-2-2. Chris Pickford found a note at Taylors that gave the scrapping weights of the back five as 5-2-12, 6-0-6, 6-3-6, 7-2-10, 9-2-21; whether nett or gross was not stated, and there is a discrepancy with the total weight given for the back five. Diameters given as 28½", 30", 30½", 32¼", 35", 38".

So it seems the old Kingstone bells were just thrown into the "melting pot".

The old bells from Kingstone were due to go to Downs Barn, Milton Keynes. Were these bells used as metal towards casting the Downs Barn Taylor ring or do they still survive elsewhere. Would be grateful for any information
