Hi David

Well spotted! So this suggests that the street St Mary's stands adjacent to is indeed named after the minster and not the other way around (which F# seems to imply!).

Regards

Peter

Returning to the original message , I rang at St Mary Reading on
tuesday evening and the board outside also proclaims it to be a
Minster . The footnote therefore is correct .

Oddly enough, the church at Litcham (Norfolk) is a Minster Church.
All the notices in the church say so also.

                Jonathan.
