The cost must be a mistake. A quick check on near-contemporary prices shows that a bell of similar size from Mears for a Warwickshire in 1842 cost £27 complete with fittings, and the bell itself cost £22. The price of metal at that time was £7 per cwt.
The Llanddeiniol bell is mentioned in Sharpe's "Cardiganshire" and it is a Mears (London) bell of 1833, 24" in diameter
