Subject: Can you help me to identify a bell


Hello I am a metal detectorist and while out searching a field in somerset this weekend I uncovered two bells. I was hopeing you might be able to tell me something about them.

I have included some pictures taken with a two pence coin to help with the scale. The bells apear to be of a silverish colour base metal with either a green paint or green tarnish (they are heavy). There is also evidence of gold guildining on the top of one bell around the loop. A small piece of a leather strap was also found inside one bell along with what I think is the very rusty strikers.

Hope you can help or else forward on to someone else who can.
