In the case of the old St Martin-in-the-Fields bells, it was the fact that
the tuning was finally completed after some sixty years ringing out as a
'half-tuned' ring that has made all the difference. Small wonder they were
not very satisfying!

Quite, Swan are a very good outcome, there are a number of cases where a
ring is transferred and comes out better than anyone could have hoped, and I
suspect Cornhill would fair very well in a new home.

Colin Turner could hardly believe he was hearing the old Milton bells at
Hackthorn.

U know that Having bells in a tower that suites them is of cardinal
importance, if they are to give of there best.

Where could they go?
I suspect they are a better prospect than the bells that went to the
Swan centre.

And pray tell me what was wrong with the old St Martins bells, apart from
the prejudice of the then ringers. They have turned out OK in their new
home, and what do people think about the new ring and particularly the tower
acoustics there?
