As the article says "Contracts for the sale of the building were
exchanged yesterday." one would hope the contract specifies the
condition of the building and content, which would put issues like that
out of reach of the council.
U are right, its inevitable the frame will be an issue, its both older
and more interesting than the one which had to be kept at Offley, which
caused problems, particularly sever clapper knock in church, and
increased costs significantly.
I would be surprised if there is a problem with the Faculty applications
unless EH wants to keep the old frame!
The bigger problem may be the LBC from Stoke City Council who have given
this once but with the proviso that the roof of the tower, already
rotted away, must be replaced when the bells are removed (at the expense
of the Church).
