St James, Trowbridge has its own clock chimes composed in 1934 by Walter Alcock, the then organist at Salisbury Cathedral, which are played on the Taylor twelve cast at the same time. The chiming mechanism and clock were donated by the local Ushers Brewery, probably after serious arm-twisting by Samuel Hector, the tower-captain and tenant of the White Swan closeby.
