Yes, that's the one! It was in very much that state when I investigated it in January 1989, with the exception that 5 of the 8 bells were still in the tower. The other 3 had been stolen, the beam on which they hung having been sawn through and the bells dropped down the tower.
 
I contacted the archdeacon about the bells, with the result that a working party was assembled and the bells removed. The bells were stored for some years in a ringer's barn until they were used to form the nucleus of the new ring at Mynyddislwyn.
 
The church itself was built in 1923, and is slightly away from the town on a hill side. A vicar I knew who once preached there said there was a problem with water from the hill side penetrating the walls, water sometimes cascading over the altar. The building is actually listed, so cannot be demolished. The RB of the church in Wales were at one time hoping to sell it to a company who made greetings cards, but this obviously fell through. The level of vandalism that had been carried out against this huge building is amazing.
