Not so - the original six for Tynemouth, North Shields ( 1786 William Mears
) were lost at sea between London and Shields. They were replaced by a
minor six in 1787 that had on them William & Thomas Mears late Pack & Chapman.
Later augmented to 8 in 1873/4 by addition of 1 & 8 and then two trebles
added in 1878.
