[Bell Historians] medieval bell pit

DRL seems to have looked at the pictures, but not the video. In the video she speaks of the mould being above ground. Metal flows wouldn't work - and how would the metal in the pit below ground have been heated?

The pit in the ground does look like an inverted bell shape (hence the description bell pit) - but that's not how bells were cast, as far as we know

Hence my doubts
