Searching for information about an obscure European bellfoundry, I
ran across this document online. Published in 4 volumes, it mentions
at least 39 places which had bellfoundries worthy of mention c.1850,
though it gives no names or histories. Most of them are on the
continent; exceptions are Downham (Market) ("large"), Gloucester
("formerly a bell foundry of very ancient date, but it is now
removed"), and Loughborough ("famous").
