If it was one of Gilletts lathe turned bells (most likely if it was about
18 diameter) then it probably wouldnt have its serial number on.
The turning was done, inside and out, to make sure the casting was
concentric and thus reduce the likelihood of beats caused by an eccentric
casting.

I did contact the seller in October when the bell was on sale for £1750. He
has looked for the four digit number usually cast on Gillett & Johnston
bells and cannot find any sign of one. The Keltek Trust did make an offer
but it was considered too low and rejected. The asking price has slowly been
falling and hopefully will continue to be reduced!
