I have come across a reference in the CW Accounts for St Magnus the Martyr for a payment as follows:

26th May 1736 Paid Mrs Mary Cole for Bellhanging .... 4-9-4½
(This amount being 5/8 of the total amount, as the cost of all ringing and bell work in those days was split between the parishes of St Magnus and St Margaret Fish Street Hill.)

I have come across William Cole, a bellhanger who worked in London at about that time, but not a Mary Cole. Perhaps they worked as a husband and wife team (as the management at the Whitechapel Bell Foundry does at present)?

Has anyone else come across this lady?
