Yes indeed Anne, once again we are very fortunate with historical information available to us.
In regards to the bells in Essex Deeds & Waters list extracts from the 1552 list of church goods in `Church bells of Essex'. However they in turn drew on previously published material and in case of Canewdon this was the `Transactions of the Essex Archaeological Society Vol. IV' pages 217 to 218.
