Reference to Percy Prices Bells & Man gives the earliest DATED bell as 910
for a bracket bell at Saumans near Avignon, France.

Earlier bells, not dated, St Stefano, via Latino, Rome in the period 820-40.

Subject: [Bell Historians] Oldest Christian Bell

I was asked this morning if I knew which is the oldest Christian bell.
Apparently it is one cast in Spain in 815 and is presently in Cincinnati. Is
this correct? If not, which is the oldest Christian Bell?
