Hi

I wonder if anyone can help and identify who cast this bell please?

It is hung in Holy Trinity, Cleeve, Somerset, a prominent church if travelling on the A370 between Bristol and Weston super Mare.
It is hung high above the floor in the central tower and usually is pretty inaccessable. Recently whilst tower roof repairs were taking place scafollding was erected inside the tower which afforded a closer view, which was when my father took the attached photos (I do have larger versions but tried to reduce size for attachments).

The bell is dated 1839 (where the 1 seems to be a J) which is contemporary with the building of the church (1840), but otherwise appears to have no mark or inscription, diameter 22.5 inches in E approx.

There is no data held for it in the pNBR and I beleive George Massey's Somerset book refers to him being unable to view it (although I don't have a copy to check).

Any help much appreciated

Thanks
Andy
