Latin inscription

There has been correspondence on ringing-chat about the Latin
inscription on the tenor at St Dunstan-in-the-West: "PRO PACE ET
SALVTATE ELIZABETHAE CANO" (and the use of this as the footnote to the
first peal: see <http://www.bb.ringingworld.co.uk/view.php?id=135468>).
There seems to be an error in the Latin: "salutate" should be "salute".

Would anyone on this list like to comment?
