Can anyone please translate the phrase ' iij prche belles' which appears in a report of Edward VI's commissioners about Brigham Church in 1552 - in particular, why 'iij' and what does 'prche' mean? The three bells in this church have wheels whose rims are carved from solid oak blocks joined together by iron straps. Is it possible that the wheels date back to the hanging of two new bells by Abraham Rudhall in 1711?
