Richard says:
>In the case of Holy Trinity, Bradford on Avon, the 7th is
>listed because it is the heaviest extant bell produced by a
>17th century founder, per the published criteria.

Great Bedwyn tenor (which is already listed) is larger and heavier than Bradford 7th.

As for Preshute - it says a complete ring - which they are not. The treble was added later. Christ Church Bradford on Avon are a few years older, and a complete eight. Why aren't they listed?

Several of the bells at Durnford have been listed, but the Wallis tenor - a truly wonderful example of 17th Century bellfounding, has not.

My fear is that things are getting even more inconsistent (I have aired my views about this already), and a little out of hand.

Cheers,

Matthew
