Mike Chester: “Warner bells...is there something about them that makes them tune up well?”

I don’t know if this is of interest, but the recent RW article (pages 225 to 228) makes reference to www.barrowbells.org.uk. However it is the following page that appears to give the most detailed information about what was done to the bells to tune them:
http://www.andy-jo.talktalk.net/StJames_BellRestorationStats.html

The pictures in the RW give some idea of where the metal came off for some of the bells.

I am no expert, but perhaps the key feature of these bells was "plenty of metal to work with"?

Chris Frye.
