I was only having a joke (evidently only a private one) about Dickon's jibe at Oxford.  Maybe I'm wrong in thinking that he IS one of the moderators of this list.

I thought Chris meant the spelling of "bell-ringer" (and
"bell-ringing"). Or possibly the relative merits of Oxford and
Cambridge. But I suppose the Sports Council will expect us to spell
our hobby correctly.
