While I can certainly see the benefits of moving from Yahoo - the service is getting ever poorer and is about to do so again, you cannot simply move the list - that would be a breach of Data Protection laws. Members of this list would have to sign up to a new list individually.   I would certainly prefer this option and would indeed sign up.
