I heard the sad news of Chris's demise a few days ago.
He was a very knowledgeable and interesting guy to be with and we will
always be grateful to him for the immense amount of work he did on our clock
collection at the Bell Tower, Perth.
May he rest in peace.
Richard

Subject: [Bell Historians] Chris McKay
For those who have not already heard, I am sorry to pass on the sad news of
the passing of Chris McKay. He passed away in Hinton Martell in Dorset last
week. He learnt to ring under Wilfrid Wilson at Christ the Saviour Ealing
and rang there in a peal in 1974.

Chris was a leading member of the Turret Clock Group of the Antiquarian
Horological Society and wrote a number of books on the subject as well as
the definitive history of Big Ben. He was also a contributor to this group
as was known by many.
