[Bell Historians] Recovered Stolen Bell

"I wonder if the police have read the “1940” properly."  DrL

Salford Priors were cast in 1945. The bell that I have a photograph to hand has a number which I think in 6259 - a splash of oil or grease is obscuring the last digit!

It would suggest that the number would be more likely to be something such as 6940, I would have thought.
