Thanks, and it's not in the middle of the wall either.  I think by 
elimination we must be looking at bells 4 to 7 or 5 to 8.  Clearly 
they're not the back bells (and the peal boards are not the ones visible 
in the picture in RW 1996/1294), we can't see shutters between 8 and 9 
(which I now agree is likely to the clock), and we can't see the 
south-facing window.
