Dear All
I'm sure that you have all received notification of some sad news relating to one of our regular practice night members - sadly Jon Reed passed away on Thursday evening.
At Cherry Hinton - we have so much to be grateful to Jon for.
He made an enormous effort to attend and support our practices, and went the extra mile to assist with the tasks that often no-one else was able to support - fitting muffles to the bells, sorting out the handbells, grabbing the extra rope just so a QP could be rung.
His practical knowledge, teaching skills, good humour, patience, kindness and general wisdom will be missed. Many people have mentioned to me that Jon just had a way of explaining things to people that just made sense.
The best excuse yet for someone not attending a practice was from Jon when the van got stuck in gear on the Barnwell Road roundabout on the way to C Hinton and he had to drive straight home again!
I know that you will all join with me in sending your love, condolences and support to Naomi in the light of this news.
I will send a card from the tower to Naomi - and if anyone wants to send an individual card, please contact Vee for an address.
I do hope you are keeping well in these trying times - I'll be in touch. We will get back to those Cherry Hinton bells !
good wishes to you all.
Amanda
